Relative Nepal has been leading to create an increased self-esteem of Maithili and Dalit populations through recognition of their language and culture. To achieve this goal Relative Nepal publishing Maithili books which contains social issues and cultural history of Maithili community and trying to generate a vivid discussion in the Maithili society on those social issues of Maithili people.

This community awareness has worked to increase togetherness between the different ethnic and caste groups. The mutual respect and cooperation between the groups was enforced by multicultural events. Even more was achieved through working together for the common good: the barriers between the different ethnic and caste groups vanished in the communities, and people started to eat and work together.

The positive change can be seen in all working area communities. People were challenged to stay in harmony within their communities and with others. Community awareness became for many a reason to feel proud of their culture and traditions, but also a source of discussion for the status of Maithili people.

Even much more than by special events was achieved in the community level through working together for the common good. The work together threw away the barriers between the different ethnic and caste groups. The participation to meetings, trainings and different celebrations arranged in the communities has also increased.
